Infrastructure Engineer (Linux, Virtualization, Kubernetes)

About the role

A full-time Infrastructure Engineer position in Jordan is open to a motivated candidate with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure administration. The role covers Linux servers, virtualization platforms and Kubernetes clusters, with a focus on availability, performance, security and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers
• Manage and maintain virtualization infrastructure, preferably VMware vSphere (ESXi and vCenter)
• Deploy, administer, monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads
• Handle day-to-day operations: patching, upgrades, monitoring and incident resolution
• Troubleshoot networking, storage and connectivity issues
• Implement security best practices, access controls and system hardening
• Support backup, recovery, high availability and disaster recovery
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, security and networking teams
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, procedures and operational standards

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as an Infrastructure Engineer, Linux System Administrator or similar
• Strong practical experience administering RHEL
• Good understanding of Linux services, systemd, storage management, permissions and performance monitoring
• Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, routing, firewalls, load balancing)
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with technical teams

Required skills

• Virtualization, preferably VMware vSphere; containers and containerization concepts
• Kubernetes administration strongly preferred, including cluster operations, deployments, networking and storage
• Preferred: RKE2, Rancher, Helm, Kustomize, Bash or Ansible automation, SAN/NAS/NFS storage, Prometheus and Grafana monitoring, HA and DR concepts, on-premises support, RHCSA/RHCE/VMware VCP/CKA/CKAD certifications
