Lead Software Engineer – Python Backend Technical Lead

About the role

CFI Financial Group is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to head its Python backend development. You will work with a multinational team to design, build, and deliver high‑performance trading solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement new features and products.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and coding standards.
• Present implementations to senior leadership, including the CTO.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
• Maintain software quality, security, modifiability, and extensibility.
• Participate in code reviews, identify anti‑patterns, and drive refactoring.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• BSc in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of professional Python development experience.
• At least 1 year of experience leading technical teams.
• Strong attention to detail and a technical mindset.
• Understanding of software quality assurance, SDLC, and service‑oriented architecture.

Required skills

• Python (core language).
• PHP (advantage).
• SQL and NoSQL databases.
• RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Microservices architecture.
• Containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools (Terraform, Helm).
• Version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
• Web security standards and best practices.
