Lead Software Engineer (Python)

About the role

CFI Financial Group is seeking a Backend Technical Lead with strong Python expertise to drive the development of new trading products and features. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams and senior leadership to deliver high‑quality, secure, and scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to design and implement new features and products.
• Define technical specifications, choose appropriate technologies, and ensure coding standards are followed.
• Present implementations to team leaders, heads, and the CTO.
• Write unit and integration tests and ensure software meets quality, security, and extensibility requirements.
• Participate in code reviews, identify anti‑patterns, and suggest refactoring opportunities.

Required profile

• BSc in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of professional software development experience, including at least 1 year as a technical lead.
• Strong attention to detail and a technical mindset.
• Understanding of software quality assurance principles and SDLC processes.

Required skills

• Python (primary language); PHP considered a plus.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of service‑oriented architecture (SOA) and microservices.
• Familiarity with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Experience building and managing containerised applications, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools like Terraform and Helm.
• Version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins).
• Understanding of web security standards and best practices.
