Mid-Level AWS DevOps Engineer

About the role

SlashTEC is seeking a Mid-Level AWS DevOps Engineer to join its on‑site team in Amman. You will design, build and maintain AWS‑based infrastructure that powers scalable, reliable and secure applications for our OTT and telecom clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC and networking.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
• Automate deployment and configuration with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Monitor systems with CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana or ELK/Opensearch and ensure high availability.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to troubleshoot production issues.
• Optimize cloud costs and resource usage.
• Document infrastructure, processes and participate in architecture reviews.
• Support continuous improvement of DevOps workflows, backup and disaster‑recovery practices.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with core AWS services.
• Proven background in DevOps practices and tooling.
• Proficiency with Linux, Bash/Python scripting and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS).
• Experience with monitoring, logging and alerting solutions.
• Good understanding of cloud security, IAM, backup and DR strategies.
• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Effective communication and a proactive problem‑solving attitude.
• Previous experience in managed services, telecom, OTT or VAS is a plus.
• AWS certifications (e.g., SysOps Administrator, DevOps Engineer) are advantageous.
