Open edX Developer

About the role

Infinite Technology is looking for an Open edX Developer to join its hybrid team in Amman. You will design, develop, and maintain custom features and extensions on the Open edX platform, supporting client learning initiatives and ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Implement front‑end and back‑end solutions for Open edX, using Python/Django and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Integrate third‑party tools and APIs, handling JSON/XML data exchanges.
• Optimize database queries and platform performance on MySQL/PostgreSQL.
• Deploy, monitor, and scale Open edX instances using Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Linux servers.
• Collaborate with product owners, instructional designers, and fellow developers to translate pedagogical requirements into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot issues, write clean testable code, and conduct peer code reviews.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in Python and Django.
• Experience with Open edX or similar LMS frameworks.
• Solid front‑end skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React or comparable library).
• Understanding of e‑learning concepts, LMS architecture, accessibility, and localization.
• Effective communication and ability to work in a hybrid environment.
