Payments Processing Agent

About the role

The Payments Processing Agent ensures accurate and timely processing of payments related to settlements, client transactions, and financial adjustments. The role involves verifying eligibility, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining compliance with company policies and settlement agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Verify payment eligibility, client authorizations, and availability of funds, ensuring settlement letters are on file and aligned with CRM terms.
• Process payments to creditors on schedule, confirming recipient details, processing instructions, and correct fund allocation.
• Track and resolve late, missing, over‑ or under‑payments, and handle returned checks or account reassignment issues.
• Maintain thorough payment records in company systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
• Report discrepancies to the Payments Supervisor and collaborate with compliance teams to meet financial regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of experience in payment processing, accounting or financial operations.
• Strong numerical and analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to handle confidential information.
• Adaptability to evolving payment policies and industry regulations.

Required skills

• Experience with CRM software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Knowledge of payment reconciliation and transaction auditing.
