Payroll Accountant – Associate Level

About the role

Deloitte is seeking a Payroll Accountant to join its Audit & Assurance team in Jordan. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Execute payroll policies and procedures, processing monthly payroll for all employees.
• Interface with employees to resolve pay slips, expense issues and salary discrepancies.
• Maintain up‑to‑date payroll records in ERP software, including WPS compliance.
• Prepare and report monthly MIS, support internal and external audit requirements.
• Handle final settlements for separated staff and manage payroll budget and cost rate calculations.
• Reconcile headcount, manage UAE pension scheme records, and produce payroll reconciliation templates for audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• 2+ years of hands‑on payroll experience.
• Strong knowledge of GCC labor laws and payroll regulations.
• Fluent English, professional demeanor and ability to work independently.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) – a plus.
