Piazza & Social Studies Teacher (Primary)

About the role

Amman Academy is seeking a bilingual (Arabic‑English) primary teacher to lead Social Studies and facilitate learning in the flexible Piazza space. The role is embedded in the IB PYP framework and focuses on inquiry‑driven, concept‑based instruction for upper‑primary students.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging Social Studies units in Arabic, linked to UOI‑aligned science topics.
• Utilise the Piazza as a flexible learning environment to promote collaboration, inquiry and student agency.
• Provide small‑group and differentiated instruction to support diverse learner needs.
• Co‑plan and co‑teach with homeroom and subject teachers, contributing to targeted interventions.
• Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies to ensure conceptual understanding.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Primary Education or a related field.
• Experience teaching primary‑aged students, preferably within an IB PYP or inquiry‑based setting.
• Fluency in both Arabic and English with effective translanguaging practice.
• Strong understanding of concept‑based, inquiry‑driven pedagogy.

• Collaboration skills for co‑planning and co‑teaching.
