Procurement Engineer

About the role

The Procurement Engineer will manage all purchasing activities for material, services and assets, ensuring timely and cost‑effective acquisition in line with project requirements. You will act as the main liaison between requestors, suppliers and internal stakeholders, driving the full procurement cycle from quotation to purchase order issuance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, coordinate and execute purchasing activities upon receipt of purchase requests.
• Issue Request for Quotations (RFQs) to suppliers based on specifications and negotiate terms.
• Prepare comparison sheets, draft purchase orders (POs) and obtain approvals from Project Managers or Business Unit Managers.
• Maintain daily status reports on purchase requests and discuss progress with managers weekly.
• Review market trends, pricing, delivery conditions and supplier performance.
• Develop and maintain a consolidated supplier database, including bank‑detail verification in SAP.
• Assist purchase officers with order acknowledgements and advance‑payment invoices.
• Cross‑check invoices, support commercial team in establishing letters of credit, and approve LC release requests per authority matrix.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in a technical field, preferably Electrical/Mechanical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of international procurement practices and Incoterms.
• Experience drafting and managing service contracts with awareness of tax and legal implications.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
• Proficiency with ERP and procurement software.
