Procurement Officer

About the role

The Procurement Officer searches for and negotiates the best price and quality for the organization's needs, builds relationships with vendors and suppliers and acts as the company's representative during contract negotiations. The role also tracks and monitors the delivery and confirmation of all materials and supplies.

Key responsibilities

• Search and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers, request quotes and compare prices to maximize ROI
• Estimate and set cost parameters and budgets for purchases
• Negotiate contracts for pricing and supply, and maintain good relationships with vendors and suppliers
• Review products and supplies for quality, and track incoming inventory and delivery arrival times
• Maintain a database of suppliers, delivery times, invoices and quantities of supplies
• Check quotations against the technical and business specifications required by the project
• Ensure distribution and storage activities are carried out correctly and documented in an orderly way

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics Sciences or a related field
• At least 1 year of experience in procurement
• Clear understanding of procurement procedures
• Ability to communicate and negotiate, and to work with both international and national personnel

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
