Purchasing Officer

About the role

Assist the Purchase Engineer in daily procurement activities, handling purchase orders, contracts, and supplier communications within Alfanar Projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare purchase orders, supply contracts, subcontracting agreements and letters of award in coordination with the Purchase Engineer.
• Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs) together with the Purchase Engineer.
• Draft letters, office notes and other correspondence under the guidance of the Purchase Engineer.
• Finalize purchase orders in the SAP system following feedback from accounting or site teams.
• Update the Purchase Order Status Report daily based on approved quality documents.
• Maintain up‑to‑date filing of all purchase orders.
• Obtain advance payment invoices from suppliers and forward them to the Commercial Section for payment processing.
• Initiate supplier evaluations for assigned projects, collect project manager feedback and forward results to Business Support for record keeping.
• Contribute to achieving the department’s yearly objectives and support ISO audit documentation requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in procurement within a technical field, preferably civil, electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP for purchase order processing.
• Experience preparing RFQs and managing supplier evaluations.
• Familiarity with ISO audit documentation procedures.
