Radar Systems Technician – ATCALS & C2

About the role

The designee will install, sustain, troubleshoot, and repair standard ground radar and airfield systems, including air traffic control radars and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve installation, repair, and modification problems for ATCALS and C2 equipment using line‑of‑sight and tropospheric scatter techniques.
• Conduct tests, alignments, and calibrations to restore and maintain system efficiency.
• Maintain detailed maintenance and inspection records, ensuring compliance with technical publications and safety standards.
• Requisition, account for, and turn in supplies and materials as required.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Four years of recent, relevant experience with electronic systems and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US CENTCOM Medical Exam and a US Government Secret Security Clearance (US citizenship required).

Required skills

• Electronics training (military technical school, vocational college, or four‑year apprenticeship).
• COMSEC/IP networking equipment maintenance with IAT Level II certification (AFMAN 17‑1303).
• Familiarity with radar and navigation equipment such as DME, ILS, MMLS, TACAN, VOR, ATIS, and related monitoring systems.
