RPA Avionics Technician I – Deployment Pool

About the role

The RPA Avionics Technician I will join a Deployment Pool, providing on‑site support for Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) systems at various CONUS and OCONUS locations. The role demands flexibility to meet deployment schedules and the ability to work with limited supervision while ensuring aircraft avionics remain operational.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and inspect organizational and intermediate level electronic maintenance and modifications on RPA systems and related support equipment.
• Interpret Air Force technical orders, manufacturers’ manuals, and other technical publications to diagnose and repair malfunctions.
• Utilize common and complex test instruments to verify equipment performance.
• Maintain, repair, and install various electronic components, wiring, and ground support equipment.
• Support deployment readiness, including pre‑deployment medical screening and OCONUS travel.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent military/vocational training.
• At least one year of aircraft avionics or Ground Control Station (GCS) maintenance experience.
• Basic understanding of electronics principles, circuits, and RFF system components.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical data tables.
• Eligibility to obtain an IAT Level II certification (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, Security+ CE, SSCP, GSEC) within 90 days of hire or after the second deployment.
