Safety and Security Consultant

About the role

IRAP Jordan seeks an experienced Safety and Security Consultant to conduct an independent, comprehensive evaluation of the office’s physical security, operational procedures, and facility‑related risks. The assessment will help protect staff, interns, clients, visitors, assets, and confidential information while maintaining a client‑centered environment.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate the physical perimeter, exterior doors, gate/barrier systems, CCTV coverage, lighting and blind‑spot mitigation.
• Review entry protocols, visitor management, and access‑control procedures to identify tailgating or unauthorized entry risks.
• Assess reception, waiting areas, and interview rooms for client‑staff separation, acoustic privacy, and duress mechanisms.
• Analyse staff‑only zones, including HR and finance file security and communications equipment protection.
• Examine fire safety, evacuation routes, muster points, first‑aid provisions and emergency communication trees.
• Provide a risk‑based report with practical recommendations to strengthen resilience and compliance with Jordanian NGO regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience conducting physical security assessments for NGOs or similar humanitarian organizations.
• Familiarity with Jordanian legal framework governing NGOs (Law on Societies No. 51/2008).
• Ability to work independently and deliver clear, actionable recommendations.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
