Senior Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric & Power BI)

About the role

ExeQut is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and implement a new end‑to‑end data warehouse on Microsoft Fabric. You will work remotely with a US‑based team, building robust pipelines, transforming data, and delivering Power BI semantic models that replace legacy reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Build ingestion pipelines from AS/400 (using Qlik Replicate or JT400) and Azure Database for PostgreSQL into the Bronze layer.
• Transform Bronze data into Silver, performing cleaning, deduplication, and conformance.
• Design the Gold layer using Kimball‑style star schemas, conformed dimensions, and slowly changing dimensions.
• Develop certified Power BI semantic models in Direct Lake mode, write DAX measures, and configure row‑level security.
• Validate new outputs against legacy reports during parallel runs.
• Assist in integrating Power BI Copilot and a custom AI agent on the semantic layer.

Required profile

• At least one year of production experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Strong expertise in Power BI semantic modeling, DAX, and row‑level security.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Kimball dimensional modeling, star schemas, conformed dimensions, and SCD types.
• Proficiency in advanced SQL and Python or PySpark for data transformations.
• Comfortable working in Azure and using CI/CD pipelines (Fabric Deployment Pipelines, Azure DevOps, or GitLab).
