Senior External Auditor - Audit & Assurance (UAE Market)

About the role

Deloitte is hiring a Senior in Audit & Assurance (External Audit) for its Jordanian Resources Center, based in Amman but working on the UAE market. The role covers external audit work, with the expectation of travelling to the UAE when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Build trust with stakeholders by understanding their service level expectations
• Deliver high-quality services with awareness of regulation, risk management and controls
• Research the entity and its industry before the engagement begins
• Adapt referral instructions to define the scope of procedures and the audit focus, and liaise with onshore and offshore centres of excellence
• Track deliverables from component auditors and link risks, controls, procedures and findings across the audit file
• Articulate audit quality milestones and challenge the timing of the audit plan
• Prepare documentation in anticipation of reviewer questions, distinguishing accounting and auditing judgements
• Apply professional scepticism and build relationships beyond the finance function
• Use AI in an audit context to improve efficiency and quality, validating AI-generated outputs and respecting responsible AI expectations
• Supervise staff, inspect client financial records, analyse data, prepare detailed audit reports and resolve accounting research issues
• Plan and manage engagements and people so that deliverables meet work plan specifications and deadlines

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or a related field; graduate degree desired
• 4+ years of experience in public auditing and accounting, preferably in Big Audit Firms
• International accounting qualification desired: CA, ACCA or CPA, preferably CA
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing); bilingual Arabic/English preferred
• Ability to supervise staff and manage engagements
