Senior Performance Engineer

About the role

Aspire is looking for a Senior Performance Engineer in Amman to design, execute and analyse performance tests so that applications can handle expected workloads and meet performance, scalability and reliability requirements. The role is an integral part of the company's product development process, helping to identify bottlenecks and ensure applications meet client expectations before production release.

Key responsibilities

• Review user stories, technical and performance requirements and work with development, QA, infrastructure and business teams to understand application architecture.
• Define performance testing strategies, scenarios, workloads and acceptance criteria.
• Design, develop, execute and maintain performance test scripts using Tricentis NeoLoad or similar tools.
• Run load, stress, endurance, scalability and volume tests, and monitor system behaviour and key performance indicators during tests.
• Analyse results, identify bottlenecks and collaborate with teams on root-cause analysis.
• Prepare test reports with findings, recommendations and improvement areas for the client.
• Maintain performance testing plans, support pre-production validation and continuously improve testing processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a similar field.
• At least 4 years of software testing experience, with significant hands-on performance testing experience.
• Experience designing and running load, stress, endurance, scalability and volume tests.
• Experience with web and API performance testing; database performance testing and SQL preferred.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Required skills

• Strong hands-on experience with performance testing tools, preferably Tricentis NeoLoad.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and HTTP protocols.
• Preferred: monitoring and performance analysis tools, and awareness of ISO/SOC security standards.
