Senior Software Developer – PHP & ASP.NET (Hybrid)

About the role

MedNet Jordan is seeking a Senior Software Developer to lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure enterprise applications on a hybrid working model. You will translate business requirements into robust technical solutions while mentoring junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical architecture, define standards, and ensure high‑performance application design.
• Design, develop, and optimise backend services using PHP 8+ and Laravel, including RESTful APIs with JWT/OAuth2, Laravel Passport or Sanctum.
• Integrate front‑end components, preferably with Angular, and collaborate with UI/UX teams.
• Design efficient MySQL schemas, optimise complex SQL queries, and manage data integrity and backup strategies.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce security best practices, and refactor legacy systems.
• Support production incidents, troubleshoot complex issues, and assist DevOps with CI/CD pipelines, Docker containers, and release processes.
• Produce technical documentation, system designs, and architecture diagrams for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 6–10+ years of full‑stack development experience with strong emphasis on PHP and Laravel.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise‑scale applications and mentoring developers.
• Experience in insurance or financial systems is a plus.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• PHP 7/8, Laravel (Eloquent, Queues, Events, Service Container)
• MySQL and SQL performance optimisation
• Angular or similar modern JavaScript framework
• RESTful API design, JWT, OAuth2, Laravel Passport/Sanctum
• Git, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments
• Linux environments, Nginx/Apache web servers
• Docker and container‑based deployment
• Caching, message queues, distributed system patterns
• Familiarity with Java Spring Boot is a plus
