Software Development Engineer – Payment Services

About the role

Amazon Payment Services is seeking a seasoned Software Development Engineer to design and build massive‑scale, distributed computing solutions for online payment processing across the GCC and Levant markets. You will drive technical direction, shape long‑term architecture, and own major deliverables from concept to production.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers to define strategy and roadmap for customer‑focused capabilities.
• Partner with engineering peers to create optimal technical designs for new products.
• Instill best practices for software development, documentation, and quality assurance.
• Manage project prioritization, planning, stakeholder communication, and external commitments.
• Ensure operational excellence through monitoring, production support, and reliability engineering.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years designing or architecting scalable, reliable systems.
• Strong background in distributed systems, web services, and high‑availability production environments.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
