Substation Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Substation Engineer to ensure the safe, efficient and reliable operation of electrical substations in Jordan. The role involves supporting day‑to‑day operations, maintenance, testing and commissioning of high‑voltage equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the operation and maintenance of substations, transformers, switchgear and protection systems.
• Plan, execute and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Participate in testing, inspection and commissioning of substation equipment.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and permit‑to‑work procedures.
• Maintain technical records, maintenance reports and documentation.
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment and drive continuous reliability improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in substations or high‑voltage power systems.
• Strong knowledge of transformers, switchgear, protection relays and testing practices.
• Experience with electrical safety standards and maintenance planning.
• Proven troubleshooting, analytical and communication abilities.
• Background in utility, industrial or energy sector environments is preferred.
