About the role

We are seeking a highly‑skilled Sushi Chef to join our new upscale concept in Amman, Jordan. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating authentic sushi dishes while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of sushi items, including nigiri, sashimi, maki, and specialty rolls using the freshest fish and seafood.
• Demonstrate exceptional knife skills to achieve precise, consistent cuts.
• Select and source high‑quality ingredients, ensuring freshness and compliance with food‑safety standards.
• Develop and innovate sushi menu items, incorporating creative flavor combinations.
• Strictly follow food safety and hygiene protocols in handling, storage, and sanitation.
• Apply traditional sushi‑making techniques for rice preparation, rolling, shaping, and garnishing.
• Interact with customers at the sushi bar, providing recommendations and answering queries.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team, managing time effectively to meet fast‑paced service demands.
• Stay updated on industry trends, attending workshops or seminars as needed.
• Assist with inventory management, training junior staff, and occasional administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in sushi preparation and traditional techniques.
• Exceptional knife handling abilities.
• Deep knowledge of fish, seafood, and other sushi ingredients.
• Commitment to rigorous food safety and hygiene standards.
