Technical Advisor (Data Governance & Quality)

About the role

The Technical Advisor will support the Data Quality & Data Governance manager in establishing and maintaining a robust data governance framework that meets local and international regulatory standards. You will work closely with data office teams, auditors, and business stakeholders to ensure data is managed, protected, and leveraged effectively across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the data governance framework aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Lead pre‑audit preparation, readiness exercises and support audit execution.
• Define, manage and periodically review data management policies based on DAMA‑DMBOK.
• Oversee data change management in line with the bank’s change processes.
• Deploy data stewardship and ownership models throughout the enterprise.
• Implement initiatives such as data catalog, critical data element identification, and data quality rule collection.
• Maintain data quality monitoring dashboards, log issues and drive remediation with data owners and stewards.
• Apply data classification, tagging and cataloging on the enterprise data catalog.
• Align governance activities with digital transformation, open banking and AI/ML projects.
• Promote data governance culture and data literacy across the organization.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in data governance or data management, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Management or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements for data.

Required skills

• Collibra, Informatica Axon, Alation, IBM Infosphere (or similar data governance tools).
• Metadata management, data lineage, Master Data Management (MDM), data lifecycle management, data catalogs and data stewardship.
• Experience with cloud and hybrid environments such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Professional certifications such as CDMP or CIMP.
