Video Editor - Educational Content

About the role

Jo Academy, an EdTech company serving over two million learners across Jordan and the region, is looking for a Video Editor to join its Class Production – Operations team. The role reports to the Production Manager and works closely with content producers, educators and creative teams to produce high-quality educational video content. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented and eager to develop their technical skills.

Key responsibilities

• Edit recorded educational lessons and long-form academic content, structuring and refining videos for clarity, pacing and engagement.
• Apply transitions, basic motion graphics, overlays and visual effects, and perform basic color correction.
• Adjust and enhance audio quality and add titles, graphics, lower thirds and branding elements.
• Review raw footage to select the best takes and visual flow.
• Manage editing projects within deadlines, optimize videos for different digital platforms and learning management systems, and keep project files organized.
• Work in shifts as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Media Production, Film, Multimedia or a related field; 1-3 years of video editing experience, with fresh graduates welcome.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Arabic and English.
• Flexibility and availability to work in shifts.

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
• Basic understanding of motion graphics, transitions and visual effects.
• Understanding of storytelling, pacing and visual composition.
• Basic knowledge of audio editing and color correction.
