Accounts Payable Intern

About the role

The Accounts Payable Intern will join APCO’s finance team in Amman, supporting the North America finance function. Working on‑site, the intern will gain hands‑on experience with invoice processing, vendor communication, and month‑end activities within a global organization.

Key responsibilities

• Review, code, and process supplier invoices accurately and promptly.
• Maintain accounts payable records, invoice files, and payment confirmations.
• Verify invoices, expense documentation, and vendor information according to internal procedures.
• Assist with vendor account reconciliations and follow‑up on outstanding items.
• Monitor accounts payable mailboxes and respond to routine inquiries under guidance.
• Prepare payment documentation and update finance trackers.
• Enter data and perform updates in APCO’s accounting and finance systems.
• Identify discrepancies, escalating issues to the Accounts Payable Lead when needed.
• Support month‑end closing activities, reporting, and follow‑ups.
• Participate in finance process‑improvement initiatives and ad‑hoc assignments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Previous internship experience in finance or accounting is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time‑management skills.
• Proactive, reliable, and eager to learn.
• Ability to work collaboratively with local and international teams.
