AI-First Software Engineer (Agentic Development)

About the role

Genie9 is a global technology company building cloud and data‑protection SaaS products. The company works AI‑first, using coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex to generate production code. This role focuses on directing those AI agents from the terminal to design, build, and ship real‑world features.

Key responsibilities

• Write precise specifications for AI coding agents and review their output to ensure maintainable, secure, and scalable code.
• Own architecture and code quality while the AI produces the implementation.
• Debug complex issues across services, logs, servers, ports, and databases, fixing root causes quickly.
• Run and operate the software you ship, handling local development, deployments, environments, and basic ops.
• Break large goals into clear specs and feedback loops that AI agents can execute reliably.
• Critically review AI‑generated code to catch subtle bugs, security holes, and shortcuts before release.
• Build backend, web, mobile (iOS & Android), desktop, API, and integration components as needed.
• Stay on the frontier of new AI models, tools, and agentic workflows, raising the team’s overall productivity.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of hands‑on software development with a track record of shipping production code.
• Deep familiarity with at least one programming language and the full software lifecycle (terminal work, servers, ports, deployments).
• Excellent debugging and problem‑solving skills, able to reason about unfamiliar code and systems.
• Comfortable learning new tools quickly, especially AI‑assisted development workflows.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one language such as Python, C#, Go, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
• Experience with APIs, databases, and basic cloud or SaaS operations.
• Ability to write clear, actionable specifications for AI coding agents.
