Artificial Intelligence Analyst – Homebased

About the role

The Artificial Intelligence Analyst will support UNDP's Regional Bureau for Arab States in accelerating AI adoption for sustainable development. Working remotely, the analyst will contribute to the AI Sprint initiative, which aims to provide governments, private sector, academia and civil society with AI‑related policies, capacity building and model development.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct AI Landscape Assessments to map AI initiatives across the Arab States region.
• Support the AI Trust & Safety pillar by developing guidelines and risk‑mitigation strategies.
• Assist in designing and delivering AI capacity‑building programmes for diverse stakeholders.
• Contribute to AI Model Development activities, ensuring alignment with sustainable development goals.
• Collaborate closely with governance, innovation and programme teams within the Regional Hub.

Required profile

• Academic or professional background in artificial intelligence, data science or a related field.
• Understanding of sustainable development challenges and the UN development agenda.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and coordinate with multi‑disciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of artificial intelligence concepts and applications.
