Assistant Finance Manager

About the role

The Assistant Finance Manager will lead the Accounting Department of Fairmont Amman, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls and seamless month‑end and year‑end processes. You will work closely with hotel operations, revenue teams and HR to support the hotel’s financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, supervise accounts payable/receivable and ensure timely invoice processing and collections.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing, prepare statutory financial statements and profit & loss reports.
• Review daily revenue reconciliation from Front Office, F&B and other departments, verify cash and card transactions and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist in preparing the annual budget, monitor departmental expenses, analyse variances and recommend cost‑control measures.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, accounting standards and tax regulations; support internal, external and statutory audits.
• Coordinate payroll review with HR, verify payroll‑related costs and ensure compliance.
• Supervise and develop the finance team, providing coaching, training and performance oversight.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Significant professional accounting experience, including senior or team‑leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and tax regulations (VAT, withholding tax) and statutory reporting.
• Proven ability to maintain internal controls, segregation of duties and financial compliance.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Professional proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software systems.
