Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our on‑site development team in Amman. You will design, build, and maintain high‑performance server‑side applications that power our digital marketing platforms and lead‑generation services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js, Python, or Go.
• Create and optimise database schemas and write efficient SQL queries in PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Develop, document, and support RESTful APIs for seamless integration with front‑end applications.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from planning and coding to testing and deployment.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an agile environment, contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and performance tuning to ensure high‑quality, reliable code.
• Maintain clear documentation of code, processes, and system architecture.

Required profile

• Strong computer‑science fundamentals and experience in back‑end web development.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Node.js, Python, or Go.
• Hands‑on experience with version control (Git) and Linux/bash scripting.
• Solid problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
