Backend Team Lead (PHP) – Lead Development & Integration

About the role

The Backend Team Lead (PHP) will head a mixed team of backend and frontend developers, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality web applications and seamless integration with telecom VAS aggregators. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will collaborate with project managers, designers, and QA to meet timelines and budget goals.

Key responsibilities

• Guide, mentor and assign tasks to backend and frontend developers.
• Design and integrate solutions with telco VAS aggregators, providing clear specifications for QA.
• Monitor test results, funnel performance and subscription revenue, ensuring data consistency with telco partners.
• Communicate regularly with aggregators and telcos to maintain smooth operations.
• Support billing, invoicing and subscription payment flows.
• Generate regular performance reports for stakeholders.
• Validate technical feasibility of new integrations and conduct testing.

Required profile

• Proven leadership or supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional web development experience.

Required skills

• PHP with expertise in Laravel, Symfony and Yii 2.
• RESTful API development.
• Database technologies: MySQL, MongoDB, Redis.
• Frontend: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, React.js.
• Architectural patterns: Microservices, SOA, MVC.
• Containerization: Docker; orchestration: Kubernetes.
• Version control: Git, GitFlow, SourceTree.
• Cloud platforms: AWS (or similar).
• Linux environment management.
• Agile methodologies: Scrum, Kanban, XP.
