Commis I – Asian Cuisine

About the role

The Asian Commis I supports the kitchen team at the Westin hotel in Aqaba by preparing and cooking Asian‑style dishes. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures that meals meet the brand’s quality, presentation, and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, cold foods and substitute items according to recipes.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures.
• Thaw frozen items in refrigeration and maintain proper portioning, garnish and food logs.
• Monitor food quality and quantity, inform the chef of excess items for daily specials.
• Communicate menu specials and out‑of‑stock items to service staff.
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling and employee coaching as needed.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, report incidents and maintain a clean, professional appearance.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• At least 3 years of relevant kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and work in a fast‑paced environment.
