Duty Engineer – Facility Management

About the role

The Duty Engineer will support the Facility Management Department at Abdali Hospital by assisting in the operation and maintenance of critical engineering systems. Working on‑site, the engineer ensures that HVAC, electrical, plumbing, medical gas, elevators and the building management system function safely and efficiently to support patients, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site support for hospital infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, medical gas, elevators and BMS.
• Receive, log and prioritize maintenance requests, coordinate with team members and update the service system.
• Conduct routine inspections and rounds to verify equipment condition and report abnormalities.
• Assist in troubleshooting, perform basic repairs or escalate complex issues to senior staff.
• Maintain accurate shift logs, incident records and service reports.
• Follow safety guidelines, report unsafe conditions and support emergency response procedures.
• Communicate clearly with nurses, other departments and the Facility Manager to ensure timely issue resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Fresh graduate to 2 years of experience in maintenance or facility services.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced hospital environment and follow safety protocols.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, medical gas systems, elevators and building management systems.
• Experience with incident/accident reporting and data entry.
• Organizational and time‑management abilities.
