Financial Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to lead month‑end and year‑end closings, ensure statutory tax compliance and support financial planning. The role combines hands‑on accounting, process improvement and mentorship of junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Own the month‑end and year‑end closing process.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations and reports prepared by junior accountants.
• Prepare and review tax filings (VAT, income tax, withholding tax) ensuring full statutory compliance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis between actual and planned figures.
• Manage the fixed assets register and depreciation schedules.
• Oversee intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Identify gaps in processes and internal controls and propose improvements.
• Supervise and train junior accountants.
• Act as the primary contact with external auditors, tax authorities and banks.
• Support cash‑flow monitoring and treasury‑related tasks.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with senior‑level responsibilities in project‑based environments.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, especially IAS 2, IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems, including setup, configuration and financial reporting; Odoo experience is a plus.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP and SUMIFS.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with external auditors and tax authorities.
