Food Services Shift Lead

About the role

The Food Services Shift Lead oversees daily food service operations, ensuring safe handling, storage, and distribution of rations and water. This role supports the DFAC and storeroom supervisors to maintain a 24/7/365 food service environment that meets strict military standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct food handling, storage, receiving, and transfer in compliance with the Tri‑Service Food Code and HACCP procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of all food received, stored, and distributed.
• Assist the DFAC Supervisor with cooking, preparation, baking, serving, and replenishment of meals.
• Escort and monitor local national employees and vendors during subsistence and water deliveries.
• Enforce company standards, promote teamwork, and ensure a clean, sanitary work environment.
• Safeguard government and contractor property, including equipment and facilities.
• Accurately complete time‑reporting and timesheets.
• Comply with AFI 34‑239, AFMAN 34‑240, and related regulations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred).
• Experience in food service operations, preferably in a regulated or military setting.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HACCP and Tri‑Service Food Code.
• Food handling, storage, and distribution procedures.
• Basic cooking, baking, and serving techniques.
• Compliance with government food service regulations.
