Head of Mission – Medical Evacuation Programme (Jordan)

About the role

Children Not Numbers is seeking a senior leader to head its Medical Evacuation Programme in Jordan. The Head of Mission will oversee the full evacuation pathway for children from Gaza, ensuring safe arrival, treatment, follow‑up and return, while building and managing a small in‑country team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Jordan mission, supervising two clinicians and two administrative staff.
• Coordinate all stages of medical evacuation, including border/airport reception, transport, hospital admission, accommodation and repatriation.
• Develop and maintain relationships with partner hospitals, the Ministry of Health, WHO and other humanitarian agencies.
• Oversee logistics, financial management and reporting for the programme.
• Ensure duty of care, staff wellbeing and safeguarding of children and families.
• Drive the registration of Children Not Numbers as an international NGO in Jordan.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading humanitarian or medical evacuation programmes.
• Strong leadership and team‑management skills in a multicultural environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management with ministries, UN agencies and NGOs.
• Ability to handle logistics, budgeting and compliance in a fast‑moving context.
• Commitment to child protection and safeguarding principles.
