Head of Trade Finance Sales

About the role

The Bank of Jordan is looking for a seasoned leader to head its Trade Finance Sales unit. You will provide strategic direction, ensure high‑quality service delivery, and drive growth in the bank’s transaction banking portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for the trade finance unit and align activities with overall bank objectives.
• Oversee import and export financing, documentary credits, bank guarantees, trade‑related collections, and other trade finance products.
• Ensure compliance with international trade finance regulations, industry best practices, and internal policies.
• Manage client relationships and collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet customer trade finance needs.
• Work closely with Relationship Managers, Risk Management, Legal, and Operations to facilitate smooth transactions and resolve issues.
• Monitor market trends, regulatory changes and provide recommendations for innovation.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of trade finance professionals, delivering training and guidance.
• Prepare accurate, timely reports on trade finance activity, performance metrics and risk assessments for senior management.
• Drive process‑improvement initiatives leveraging technology and automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or a related field; Master’s or professional certification in trade finance is a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of trade finance experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role within a bank or financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of trade finance products, instruments and regulations (UCP 600, ISBP, URC 522, Incoterms).
• Familiarity with international trade practices, documentation and risk mitigation techniques.
• Proven track record of managing import/export financing, documentary credits and trade‑related collections.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong client and stakeholder relationships.
