Health, Safety & Environment Engineer

About the role

The HSE Engineer will support Hikma’s commitment to a safe and healthy work environment by developing, implementing and monitoring health, safety and environmental policies and procedures across the Jordan facilities. This role combines field inspections, risk assessments and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the development and implementation of health and safety policies, processes and procedures to meet legislative requirements.
• Supervise daily activities to ensure work is performed efficiently and in compliance with established HSE policies.
• Contribute to the preparation and alignment of the EHS budget.
• Conduct EHS audits, inspections and risk evaluations to maintain safe operations.
• Interact with local authorities and civil defence to ensure compliance with local health and safety standards.
• Promote EHS awareness through training, recommendations to department heads and regular team meetings.
• Support emergency response plans, incident handling and accident investigations.
• Perform regular EHS tours, weekly inspections and monthly audits, reporting findings to relevant departments.
• Lead emergency drills to verify the effectiveness of Hikma Jordan’s emergency plan.
• Carry out industrial hygiene assessments, including air sampling, noise monitoring and chemical exposure analysis.
• Develop and implement control measures such as engineering solutions, administrative controls and PPE programs.

Required profile

• BSc in Engineering, EHS or a related field.
• IRCA, NEBOSH or OSHA certification or equivalent.
• OHS Ministry of Labor accreditation.
• 0‑3 years of relevant experience.
