Human Resources Officer (International Personnel Services)

About the role

The Human Resources Officer (International Personnel Services) supports UNRWA’s mission by managing the full employment cycle for international staff. This internal‑only position is based at UNRWA’s headquarters in Amman and reports to the Senior Human Resources Officer of the International Personnel Services Section.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, follow up and distribute employment documents such as offers, appointment letters, contract extensions, salary increments, promotion and transfer letters, certificates of employment, special leave authorisations, sick leave, separation letters and other administrative correspondence.
• Contact staff during onboarding and prior to separation to verify information and address queries.
• Maintain Official Status Files (OSF) and digital SharePoint repositories, ensuring documents are chronologically organised and up‑to‑date.
• Assist the Section Head in administering personnel entitlements in line with Staff Regulations, Rules and Personnel Directives.
• Handle payroll and ERP matters for the International Personnel Section, ensuring accurate data entry in the REACH system and timely salary disbursement.
• Coordinate resolution of payroll and ERP issues, acting as the focal point for related processes.
• Prepare and disseminate agency‑wide international personnel data, statistics and management information for audit, donor and management reporting.

• Internal UNRWA candidates only.

Required skills

• Experience with the HRM and payroll system REACH.
• Familiarity with ERP and payroll processes.
• Proficiency in managing documents on SharePoint.
