HVAC Sub-AMP Manager

About the role

The HVAC Sub-AMP Manager oversees the installation, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial HVAC equipment, including boilers, chillers, and light‑commercial units. This position works in demanding environments and requires strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform inspections of heating units, exhaust fans, ventilation systems, and related components.
• Install HVAC equipment and monitor repairs on pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, and piping.
• Diagnose system failures, recommend repairs or replacements, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Oversee basic chiller inspections and testing according to standard procedures.
• Track routine and preventive maintenance performance to maintain system availability.
• Prepare written reports, work order status updates, and activity logs.
• Request equipment and supplies to keep inventory levels adequate.
• Respond to emergency situations after hours to address safety concerns.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum eight (8) years of journey‑level HVAC experience.
• Completed HVAC apprenticeship.
• CFC/HFC certification.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license; U.S. passport preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Willingness to work in extreme dust, high‑temperature conditions and endure long hours.

Required skills

• HVAC installation, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Use of hand and power tools common to the trade.
• Interpretation of codes, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
• CFC/HFC certification.
