Junior Sous Chef

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Junior Sous Chef with a strong background in Peruvian cuisine to support daily kitchen operations in our hotel restaurant. You will work closely with the Sous Chef to ensure high‑quality food preparation, maintain standards, and contribute to an authentic dining experience for our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare a la carte and buffet menu items consistently according to hotel recipes and standards.
• Provide professional, friendly, and proactive guest service while supporting fellow kitchen colleagues.
• Lead daily shift briefings in the Sous Chef’s absence and ensure all team members understand expectations.
• Communicate with the Outlet Chef regarding guest feedback and menu updates.
• Manage product rotation in chillers to minimize waste and spoilage.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of menu items, daily features, and promotions.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of work areas, utensils, and equipment.
• Follow all kitchen policies, service standards, safety, and sanitation procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Previous experience in the culinary field.
• Journeyman’s papers or international equivalent.
• Culinary diploma or certification is an asset.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Windows applications.
• Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
• Highly responsible, reliable, and able to work under pressure.
• Team‑oriented with a focus on guest needs.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Experience with Opera or similar hotel management systems is advantageous.
