Learning Support Services Consultant – Makani Program (4 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a consultant to provide systematic field monitoring and quality assurance for the Makani learning support services operating in the Azraq and Zaatari refugee camps. The assignment runs for four months (September‑December 2026) and is office‑based in Amman.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor Makani Center operations and program implementation to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Support the strategic reshaping and prioritisation of a reduced package of services as the programme scales down.
• Oversee data collection, field reporting and accountability mechanisms.
• Provide technical oversight to Syrian Incentive‑Based Volunteers (IBVs) and coordinate with centre managers and programme facilitators.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in social work, social sciences, educational psychology, education, community development or a related field.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in learning and education, program monitoring, community‑based programming or educational counselling, preferably in a humanitarian context.
• Prior experience working in refugee‑camp settings in Jordan.

Required skills

• Knowledge of formal and non‑formal learning services and the Jordanian national curricula.
• Understanding of child‑protection principles and referral mechanisms.
• Experience in program monitoring, field data collection and structured reporting.
