MEAL Coordinator – Monitoring & Evaluation (Jordan)

About the role

The MEAL Coordinator will design, implement and oversee the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) systems for AVSI Jordan’s programmes. Reporting to the Country Representative, the role ensures high‑quality data collection, timely reporting and strong accountability mechanisms for all projects based in Amman.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain outcome and output indicators in collaboration with program heads and the regional office.
• Supervise the creation of monitoring and evaluation plans aligned with project logical frameworks.
• Provide capacity‑building support to partner organisations and community‑based organisations.
• Manage the Activity Info database and produce internal and external progress reports.
• Coordinate field visits, oversee data quality checks and supervise the feedback, complaint and response mechanism.
• Prepare after‑action reviews, document good practices and lessons learned.
• Ensure compliance with AVSI policies, especially the General Procedure on Accountability.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of professional experience in MEAL within humanitarian or development settings.
• Fluent oral and written communication in Arabic and English.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work collaboratively with programme teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Activity Info software for data management and reporting.
