Mechanical Design Engineer – Solar Mounting Structures

About the role

SolarShade is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to create sheet‑metal components and mechanical assemblies for residential and commercial solar mounting systems. The role combines 3D modelling, detailed drawing production, and close collaboration with structural engineers and the production team.

Key responsibilities

• Design sheet‑metal parts and complete mechanical assemblies for solar mounting structures.
• Develop 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Prepare erection and installation manuals for field teams.
• Create accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) for fabrication.
• Coordinate design reviews with the structural engineering team and ensure manufacturability at the production facility.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1–3 years of experience in mechanical or sheet‑metal product design.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, including part modeling, assemblies, sheet‑metal module, and drawing output.
• Experience producing manufacturing drawings and BOMs.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to generate precise technical documentation.
• Enthusiasm for renewable energy, particularly solar power.
• Based in Irbid, Jordan.
