Plant Engineer

About the role

The Plant Engineer will lead the optimisation of equipment reliability and operational efficiency at CROWN Middle East Can Manufacturing Ltd. You will oversee maintenance activities, manage capital projects, and drive continuous improvement in a high‑volume beverage can production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage preventative maintenance programmes for all plant machinery and facilities.
• Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training and performance evaluations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues on production lines.
• Manage capital projects from scope definition to delivery, ensuring budget adherence and timely execution.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reduce waste.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality regulations.
• Collaborate with production, quality and supply‑chain teams to resolve operational challenges.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history and spare‑parts inventory.
• Source and manage external contractors and suppliers for specialised services.
• Prepare and control the annual maintenance budget, seeking cost‑saving opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in plant engineering or maintenance management within manufacturing, preferably in can or packaging production.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a technical team.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and decision‑making capabilities.
• Project‑management experience, especially with capital projects.
• Good knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Fluent English; Arabic is a plus.
