Principal Engineer – ICT/ELV/Security

About the role

WSP is looking for a Principal Engineer to lead the design and delivery of integrated ICT, ELV, security and audio‑visual solutions for building technology projects in Amman. The role combines technical leadership, design governance and client engagement to drive innovative, high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and coordinate engineering teams that develop infrastructure and building technology solutions.
• Produce design deliverables – specifications, drawings, calculations and reports – ensuring integrity across disciplines.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to translate technology needs into conceptual designs, technical recommendations and cost estimates.
• Prepare technical proposals, fee estimates and bid documentation to support business development.
• Conduct peer reviews and enforce QA/QC procedures for all design outputs.
• Monitor design budgets, resource allocation and workload forecasts.
• Secure authority approvals across GCC regulators such as Du, Etisalat, SIRA, ADMCC and MOI‑KSA.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and manufacturers to foster regional opportunities.
• Collaborate with BIM engineers for digital delivery of designs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, IT, Telecom or a related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in ICT, security, telecom, extra‑low voltage, AV and building technology sectors.
• Strong understanding of contracts, scope‑time‑cost constraints and project deliverables.
• Experience obtaining authority approvals in the GCC.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and lead multidisciplinary teams.
