Quality & Risk Management Referent

About the role

The Quality & Risk Management Referent will lead the development and implementation of patient safety and continuous improvement initiatives within a Reconstructive Surgery Hospital in Jordan. Reporting to the hospital director, the role ensures that quality governance is embedded in daily operations and aligns with Médecins Sans Frontières policies and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a culture of patient safety and a patient‑centered approach across all staff levels.
• Lead the Patient‑Centered Approach (PCA) Committee, gradually transferring leadership to national members.
• Oversee patient feedback mechanisms, satisfaction surveys, interviews and complaint handling.
• Maintain and continuously improve the risk‑management system, including adverse event reporting and corrective‑action monitoring.
• Update and manage the documentation system (protocols, procedures, guidelines) and support national staff in taking ownership.
• Coordinate with hospital leadership to integrate quality governance with safeguarding, internal control and protection frameworks.
• Facilitate capacity‑building, coaching and knowledge transfer to national staff for sustainable quality management.
• Contribute to MSF institutional learning and support replication of successful practices in other missions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in healthcare quality and risk management, preferably in humanitarian or low‑resource settings.
• Familiarity with MSF quality of care policies, patient‑centered care standards and international safety guidelines.
• Strong ability to coach and mentor national staff and to lead multidisciplinary committees.
• Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of French is an asset.
