Release and Deployment Engineer

About the role

The Release and Deployment Engineer is responsible for supporting software deployment activities, managing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring reliable releases across QA, staging, and production‑like environments. You will work closely with development, QA, architecture, and DevOps teams to deliver smooth and repeatable software releases.

Key responsibilities

• Support deployment activities across QA, staging, and controlled production‑like environments.
• Maintain and execute Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for .NET‑based applications and services.
• Follow approved release procedures, checklists, and rollback guidelines.
• Work with Git repositories, build artifacts, and deployment packages.
• Install and configure applications on Windows and Linux servers (IIS, Nginx, Windows Services, systemd).
• Monitor deployment jobs, pipeline executions, and application logs; escalate issues as needed.
• Execute basic SQL queries and assist with database backup, restore, and script execution.
• Use PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting tools to automate routine tasks.
• Maintain release documentation, deployment notes, and internal wiki pages.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 2‑5 years of experience in release management and software deployment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures.
• Good communication, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to learn, take responsibility, and work in a team‑oriented environment.

Required skills

• Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines

• Windows and Linux server administration (IIS, Nginx, Windows Services, systemd)
• Basic SQL querying and database script execution (SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
• Fundamental knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (nice to have)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools, Redis, Elasticsearch (nice to have)
