SCADA and Automation Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated SCADA Automation Engineer to lead the technical design and implementation of automation systems for utility‑scale renewable energy projects, including PV solar, substations, and battery energy storage. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams and act as the technical face of the company in client and industry engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review Functional Design Specifications based on customer requirements.
• Design power system automation control logic for PV solar, substations, and BESS.
• Develop and program automation controller settings, historians, and HMI screens.
• Program and commission PLC controllers, SCADA servers, data historians, and HMI systems.
• Act as Owner’s Engineer for external consultant designs and evaluate compliance with scope.
• Lead commissioning of Power Plant Controllers, HMI, communication gateways, and PLCs.
• Conduct utility‑required SCADA testing, network commissioning, and field equipment troubleshooting.
• Represent the company in customer meetings, industry forums, and conferences.

Required profile

• 2‑4+ years of SCADA or utility‑scale solar power management systems engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing commercial requirements and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent organizational skills and a focus on process improvement.

Required skills

• Automation platforms: SEL RTAC, PLCs, IEC 61131, Python.
• Communication protocols: DNP, Modbus, SEL protocols, Goose messaging, IEC 61850.
• Software: Ignition, Copa Data Zenon, AcSELerator RTAC, Python scripting.
• Networking: Ethernet, TCP/IP, managed Ethernet switches, firewalls.
• Design of field installation packages and performance analysis.
