Security Manager

About the role

The Security Manager will lead the security function at the terminal, protecting people, assets, cargo, facilities and operations. This senior position is responsible for shaping and executing security strategies in a major port environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the terminal security strategy.
• Lead day‑to‑day security operations across the terminal.
• Ensure compliance with port, maritime and security regulations.
• Create security policies, procedures and contingency plans.
• Conduct security risk assessments and oversee access control, perimeter security and surveillance systems.
• Manage security incidents, investigations and emergency exercises.
• Coordinate security arrangements with government and law‑enforcement authorities.
• Oversee security contractors and ensure personnel are properly trained and deployed.
• Monitor security KPIs, support business continuity and crisis‑management planning.
• Provide security advice to senior management and maintain effective security systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Risk Management or a related field.
• 10+ years of security experience with management responsibility.
• Experience in ports, maritime, critical infrastructure, logistics or industrial environments preferred.
• Knowledge of port and maritime security requirements is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to manage security teams and contractors.
• Strong leadership and crisis‑management skills.
