Senior Backend Developer

About the role

Equiti, a fast‑growing fintech firm, is looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join its Trading Ecosystem team in Amman. You will design, build and maintain robust backend services that power multi‑asset trading platforms and brokerage solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and business logic using Python and the Odoo framework.
• Customize, extend and optimise Odoo modules to match business workflows.
• Integrate Odoo with internal systems and third‑party services via APIs, webhooks and message‑based interfaces.
• Participate in system design discussions, proposing scalable and maintainable architectures.
• Ensure code quality through best practices, automated testing and documentation.
• Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes and deliver timely fixes.
• Collaborate with product, frontend and QA teams to deliver end‑to‑end features.
• Contribute to performance optimisation, database tuning and overall system improvements.
• Support deployment processes and CI/CD pipelines for backend services.
• (Preferred) Develop additional services using .NET where required.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience.
• 3+ years with Python, including at least 2 years of hands‑on Odoo development.
• Proven track record of building and integrating backend services in production.
• Experience working in agile, cross‑functional teams.
