Senior Backend Drupal Engineer

About the role

Almosafer is seeking a Senior Backend Drupal Engineer to design, develop, and maintain Drupal‑based web applications that support its travel and tourism platforms. The role works closely with front‑end developers, designers, and business stakeholders to deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new web applications primarily on Drupal, write custom modules, and evaluate community modules.
• Architect and implement Drupal solutions, including setting up new instances and extending existing platforms.
• Collaborate with designers and front‑end teams to integrate PHP, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS components.
• Build and maintain RESTful and SOAP web services, and integrate e‑commerce and third‑party APIs.
• Manage version control with Git, and use Drush and Docker for development workflows.
• Optimize performance through caching, scaling techniques, and database tuning.
• Ensure SEO‑friendly implementation on existing platforms.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of PHP web development experience, with at least 3 years focused on Drupal 8+.
• Proven experience developing custom Drupal modules and themes.
• Strong understanding of Drupal’s hook system, APIs, Views, entities, taxonomies, and configuration management.
• Hands‑on experience with MySQL databases and Git‑based source control.
• Ability to work independently, self‑motivated, fluent in written and spoken English.
